Filla vs Google Forms
Google Forms is great for surveys. But if you use Airtable, you need forms built for it. Compare native Airtable integration vs third-party connectors.
The short answer
Choose Filla if:
- You use Airtable as your database
- You need linked records, formulas, or lookups in forms
- You want zero-mapping, instant sync to Airtable
- You want to avoid paying for Zapier or Make
Choose Google Forms if:
- You use Google Sheets as your primary data store
- You need simple surveys with basic data collection
- You're already paying for Zapier and don't mind extra complexity

Key differences explained
The Zapier tax
Google Forms doesn't connect to Airtable on its own. You need Zapier or Make to bridge the gap, which costs $20-$30/month for enough tasks. Filla connects directly to Airtable, so you avoid the middleware cost and complexity.
Field mapping hell
With Google Forms + Zapier, every time you add or change a field in Airtable, you have to update your form manually and rebuild your Zap mapping. Filla auto-syncs with your Airtable schema. Add a field in Airtable, and it's instantly available in your form.
Linked records don't exist
Google Forms has no concept of linked records or relational data. You can't select from related tables or create child records. Filla treats linked records as first-class citizens with search, filtering, and inline creation.
Formula and lookup fields
Filla can display calculated values from formula fields and pull in related data from lookup fields. This lets users see pricing, totals, or related information before submitting. Google Forms can't access these Airtable-specific field types.
Update vs create only
Google Forms can only create new records (via Zapier). Filla can both create new records and update existing ones using prefilled forms. This enables use cases like client updates, profile editing, and data correction.
